About the Author

Mike Powers is a lawyer residing in Orlando with his wife, Melissa, and their rescue Labrador retriever, Lacie. Since 1997, he has acted as an in-house counsel and COO for four different bank-owned equipment finance companies. From 1999 to 2010, he was a certified agent representing Major League Baseball players.

He has four adult children (three girls and one son) from his first marriage ranging in ages from thirty-one to twenty-five. In addition, he has two grandsons ages six years and one year old. 

 Powers was a junior college All-American soccer player in 1978 and attended Loyola University in Baltimore, where he played soccer and graduated in 1980. He then attended Temple University to secure a master’s degree in sports administration but never completed his thesis. Rather, he attended night school at the University of Baltimorer School of Law. He is a member of the Maryland and Wahingon, DC bars since 1988.
